Affordable Housing: Best practices from around Europe

Vienna's approach to housing demonstrates how long-term Social Democratic responsibility can protect housing from market pressures. Rooted in the tradition of “Red Vienna,” the city has built and maintained a large, high-quality stock of municipal and limited-profit housing that provides affordable housing for broad sections of the population.

Politicians and experts from countries participating in the "Affordable Housing" project will take part in a study visit to Vienna. The purpose of this visit is to explore whether aspects of the Viennese housing model can be adapted and implemented in other national contexts. Additionally, the visit will provide an opportunity for policymakers from different countries to exchange experiences and foster connections, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
