When UN-Resolution 1325 was passed 20 years ago, it was celebrated as a milestone in the history of gender equality. Yet, women still often remain excluded from formal peace processes and post-conflict power structures.
In a digital event with Lisa Nandy (UK Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs), Katarina Barley (Vice President of the European Parliament) and Ann Bernes (Swedish Ambassador for Gender Equality and Coordinator of Feminist Foreign Policy) we were taking stock: What has changed since the resolution was passed? What steps have been taken in the UK, Sweden, Germany, and the EU? What approaches are there for a Feminist Foreign Policy?
The event was moderated by Kristina Lunz from the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy and German Minister of State at the Foreign Office Michelle Müntefering shared a video message with the participants.
